September 4 townships

Cherry Valley, Durand, Laona, Owen, and Rockford.

September 5 townships

Burritt, Harlem, Harrison, Pecatonica, Rockton, Roscoe, Seward, Shirland, and Winnebago.

The county also publishes later additional-evidence dates that vary according to the township group and the size of the requested reduction. Those dates should be taken from the current county page and the case instructions.

Begin with the township

Preserve the assessment notice and identify the parcel, township, publication date, assessed value, and complaint deadline. The county recommends contacting the township assessor when an assessment may be incorrect; that conversation should not be assumed to replace a timely formal complaint.

Keep official assessment data, homeowner-provided evidence, and analytical comparisons separate. Save the final complaint, evidence, and proof of submission.
